Last Sale Day, Updates, and what not

I have been working hard on Surrender and on Kiera's next book. Both will be finished by the end of the month, and turned in for edits NLT June 2, woo hoo. Surrender will be out in late June. After that, I get to spend time with vamps in BY BLOOD: DESIRE and THEN, A Little Harmless Fantasy.  I am really excited by all these projects but I am really intrigued by the dynamics
But, one thing I am super excited about is a new series I am working on. I am just getting down to details on it, but for the first time ever, I am writing a GIRLY GIRL. I have had some feminine heroines before but this one, OY. She wears three inch heels to work at her bakery lol. I hope to have a cover soon to reveal. The shoot is this weekend!

Possession is up for .99 through midnight tonight, then it will go up to 2.99. Price wise, because I only earn 35-40% on anything under 2.99, financially, it isn't feasible for me to have a 30K book for .99. If I had tripled or even doubled sales because of the lower price, I would have kept it, but since they are good, but not any higher than my Harmless books, I will have to put it back up to 2.99.

I am happy to report that Possession did make the top 100 at B and N! Very excited about that. Make sure to pick it and Infatuation up before their prices go up at the end of the day.

Sneak Peek: A Little Harmless Fascination

We are closing in on the release date for A Little Harmless Fascination. I am really excited about this book, and about the one after that, Possession. Okay, I am always excited about new releases, but this will kick off three or four HARMLESS releases in a row. That of course, depends on the move in a couple of weeks. I hope to be able to put four out, but you know, even a move ten minutes away is bound to be a PITA.

But I digress as usual. Coming up is A Little Harmless Fascination. I do not have an exact date because I just want to put it out when it is done. I guess if y'all want a date, I can give you one, but then I would have to shove it back a couple of weeks. I figured y'all wanted it asap!

Writing Fascination brought back some old characters, including one newer one. Anna and Max make an appearance, Danny Aiona gets more air time--as he is a very flirtatious 21 year old who likes much older women, and our friend Eli St John, hero of the upcoming A Little Harmless Ride, has a very brief appearance. He is on the prowl at Rough 'n Ready of course, lol. There are also a couple of bisexual bikers who live in a house close to Jillian and they just might have to have their own book. They're ex-special forces on top it, so yum.

One thing that I liked about this one is I did it mainly as a pantzer. I am back to my old ways completely and loving it. I have a structure of the book, I now how the bad guy is, but I just let the relationship develop naturally. I hope y'all like it.

Here is a tidbit that isn't edited, so any and all mistakes are mine:

A LITTLE HARMLESS FASCINATION
coming soon
(c) 2012 Melissa Schroeder
Unedited
“How about a tattoo?” she asked pulling him out of his thoughts.
He choked on the drink of coffee he just took. The warm liquid shot up his nose and he winced. She handed him a napkin.
"What?" he asked.
She smiled and nodded to a tent on the other side of him.
"It's just henna. Don't look scared."
"I'm not scared. I'm just not into tattoos on me."
She pulled her glasses down on her nose so she could look over the top of them. "What about on other people?"
He could tell from the sparkle in her eyes that she was fucking with him. He looked down her arms at a sleeve of tattoos that must have taken hours to get. "Depends on the person. I especially like yours."
"Really?"
"Yeah. That and your belly button ring."
Her lips curved as she pushed the glasses back up and turned to walk away. The woman moved like a freaking temptress. He knew it was innate to her like breathing. She didn’t do it on purpose. It didn’t mean he could ignore it. His hands itched to touch, to tease, to spank.  That full ass swinging in her barely there shorts...he was sure the lack of blood in his brain wasn't good for his health.
He caught up to her. "So, is your belly the only place you're pierce?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
He slipped his hand around her upper arm and gently tugged her to the side of a tent at the end of one of the rows out of the pedestrian traffic. It was heating up, the air stifled by the arrangements of the vendors, and the humidity was rising by the minute. The scent of her filled his senses.
"Yeah, I kind of do want to know where else you're pierced."
She smiled up at him and he could tell she was going to brush him off. The Dom in him was already beating his way out. He had lain dormant for months but with Jillian around, those dominant tendencies were surfacing again.
She patted his cheek. "I only share that with intimate friends."
Jillian turned to leave but he grabbed her arm again.
"Don't mess with me, Jillian. I don't like it, not that way."
Her eyes narrowed as she looked down at his hand on her upper arm.
"If you're not interested, just say leave me the fuck alone, Conner."
He waited, holding his breath. He hadn't meant to challenge her, hadn't known this was so important right now. It was. More than he had ever expected, it was beyond that now. Why this woman, right now, he had no idea. But the need he had building in him was starting to take over any sane thought he had. He knew right now if he didn’t have her soon, there was a good chance he might just go a little insane. If she said to fuck off, he would be screwed.
When she didn’t say anything, Conner let loose the breath and nodded. "Good, then we understand each other. Just know that when I ask you that question again, I will expect an answer."

An Explanation about Free Reads, Clan and Upcoming Releases

I figured that I should explain a couple things that have been going on because I have been getting emails.

First, I want to talk about free reads.
I do not have the ability to put something for free on the Nook. Barnes and Noble does not extend that privilege to self-published authors. That is why I enrolled into KDP select to be able to do it on Amazon. I do appreciate that I have a lot of Nook readers, but as I said, Barnes and Noble doesn't allow us to do that.  I did a free read with All Romance Ebooks in December for A Little Harmless Submission and I would be happy to run a promotion at different places.  If readers send them emails complaining they do not offer this to people, they might think about doing it. Right now, they don't seem open to the idea so my hands are tied. The only way I could get it free were to have it put up there permanently for free. While that might be nice, I need to make a living and I cannot do that with my books for an indefinite amount of time.

The Cursed Clan and other books.
When I chose to step into self-publishing, I knew that I would have to make decisions like a publisher. The last few years I looked at my writing that way. So, to earn money, I have to make sure that my earnings are balanced.  I love writing my Clan books, but I also have to earn a living. The truth is, Callum has sold as much as I thought it would. I was HOPING for more, but I know my writing and the market pretty well. It is one of the reasons I put it up for free. On average, most people  have been loving the book, so I have a feeling the more people who read it, the more who will buy the second one. Unlike a publisher, I will not end a series in the middle. It might just take longer to get the books out. Now, as a reader, if you love the series, make sure you let people know. Tell your friends and family about the series. Post reviews at Goodreads and Amazon and if you have a blog or facebook page, be sure to post stuff there. Word of mouth is HUGE and sometimes it can take a book from expected sales to OMG sales.

Scheduling for my upcoming releases is off the grid.
What do I mean by that? I will not have specific dates until close to the release. I am doing this for a couple of reasons. One being that if I get sick again or something else personal comes into play, I won't feel that I have to get it done and risk my health and sanity. I am very goal oriented and once I set something in motion, it drives me crazy if I don't get it done. Secondly, I can also change the schedule up a bit to satisfy readers. If Clan takes off, I can slip books into the schedule, do some shuffling. If my Victorian vamp series By Blood explodes, I can release more than one a year. The release times are being stripped from the website so there will be no confusion. As I get further ahead where I finish books a few months before it releases, I will be able to put up release dates again.

I hope that explains a few things to readers. :) Now I get to return to Hawaii and Deke and his Possession.

A Little Harmless Fascination Blurb and Soundtrack

Today I really dive into A Little Harmless Fascination. It is the next release in the Harmless series, duh, and that makes it book SEVEN. Still hard to believe that people are still fascinated with the Harmless world.
Anyway, I thought I would give you a little blurb about the book. You first met Conner in A Little Harmless Lie as the former FBI agent who hunted Dee down. Jillian is a new to you character but she has been running around in my head for awhile. Our very own Brandy Walker named her for me though:) The blurb is

Also, I wanted to let you know the initial soundtrack for the book. I just started putting it together. It grows as I write the book.
Oh, and check out my AAD2012 feature over at BOOK WENCHES.

A Little Harmless Fascination

Wanting her isn't smart, seducing her is inevitable, but  falling in love with her could be downright deadly for both of them.

Harmless Book 7

Conner Dillon has had a few bad weeks. He's been working overtime trying to expand his security business. So much so, that he ended up in the ER with chest pains. His sister panics and insists he take time off, and she has the perfect set up in Hawaii. Her old college roommate, Jillian Sawyer, has room for him.  He has a few issues though. He's been ordered to rest, and Conner just doesn't know how. Not to mention the fact he is undeniably attracted to his sexy, tattooed, landlady. And worse, she brings out the dominant side of his sexuality, something he hadn't had to deal with in years.

Jillian has marched to the beat of her own drum for awhile now. Raised by her mother's rich white family after the death of her parents, she gave up trying to fit in years ago. Now happy with her career as a writer, and totally at peace with who she is, she doesn't think she'll be attracted to her old friend's brother. He's uptight, runs on a schedule, and has a list for everything. But there is something in his commanding presence that makes her melt. After spending too much time in his presence, she can't keep her hands off him. When he shows his true personality in the bedroom, she is completely enthralled.

Even though neither of them think they want forever, they are having a hard time keeping it just about sex. And when a series of seemingly simple accidents turns dangerous, staying together isn't just for fun, it might just save their lives.

WARNING This book contains: An uptight security expert who prefers schedules, a romance writer who does not, tattoos, a trip to the Aloha Swap Meet, two hunky neighbors who irritate our hero, a ride or two on a motorcycle, Hawaiian scenes, whipped cream, and of course, this would not be a Harmless book without a trip to Rough 'n Ready.  Ice is recommended as any Harmless Addict will tell you, but the author takes no responsibility if a readers should become overheated.

Some Updates and What Not

Callum is just about done and should be going out tomorrow, hurrah! I wanted to let you know that I had to rework the schedule. I have talked about this before, but I wanted to give you a little heads up about how I will process from now on.
I have six more new releases planned for this year. That doesn't count the shorties I will be releasing for free, my rereleases, or my Kiera West or Melissa Schroeder Siren releases. That last bit is important. I have three more books due in for the Great Wolves series. To be able to do that, I have to space out my selfpubs. I also have two more Texas Temptations planned, so in order to get that done, I have to lighten my schedule.
I am also homeschooling now and we have decided to move on base. Well, we hope to move on base. Not sure if it will work out, but I think it will. So, I have a lot on my plate this year and I want to make sure I can give my readers the quality they expect.
Another little plug here and then I am reading through Callum one more time before formatting. I am going to start posting chapters on my Facebook Fan Page. You will have to LIKE it to see it, so make sure you do that so you don't miss out. I am presently working on a new website and there will be a member only area, so this is just getting us ready for it:)
Off to work and I hope everyone had a great weekend. Oh, and I guess we need a purty man?

Monday Morning Blurb and cover

I have had a lot of popular books but I am not sure if any of them have had the buzz with my readers that the military romance books do for the Harmless series. I have avoided writing about military mainly because it isn't all that romantic while living it. But, I knew the Duprees had one military man in the family and he was going to have friends. Of course, another of those friends is Deke and here is the little blurb about his book, coming this May.

POSSESSION

Loving a military man isn't always easy and sometimes living with him is impossible.

Deke Berg has been in love with Sam for ten years. From the moment they met, they could never keep their hands off each other. Their marriage was volatile and short-lived, and they were both much too young. Now, though, Deke knows what he wants in life, and Sam is at the center of his plans. Unfortunately, Sam is wary of marriage--especially to a man who broke her heart.

Sam has always loved Deke. Being a former military brat, she thought she'd been prepared for life as a military spouse. But the long separations were hard, especially dealing with the stranger who returned home. When he refused to get help, she left and always regretted it. She doesn't know if she can handle that pain again, but after spending a night together in Hawaii it's impossible for her to ignore him.

Old prejudices and painful memories aren't easy to overcome, but there is one thing Deke understands: Sam is the woman for him and he will do anything to prove his love and win her back.

Warning, this book includes: Another hard-headed military man, a woman with a wicked temper, a trip to Hawaii, one Hell Week, a few embarrassing moments, nosey brothers, and two people too stupid to realize they are perfect together. It's Harmless and military, so for your own safety make sure you have ice water nearby. The author assumes no responsibility for overheating of the reader.

Friday Afternoon Cover Goodliness

Again, I am a lucky bitch when it comes to covers. Not really lucky because I know to hire Kendra Egert to do my covers. I guess I am a smart bitch.
Here is a rough blurb of the book which will be releasing in early Feb.

Falling In Love Again

A Once Upon An Accident Short

With her children happily settled, Lady Victoria is at a stage in her life when she can put herself first. Since the death of her husband almost two decades earlier, she has never taken a lover and now she is ready. The only problem is the one man she would invite to her bed insists on marriage.

Lord Michael Greenwood has been in love with Victoria for years, but the Earl cannot convince the woman to marry him. He is positive she loves him, but her fear of loving and losing another husband. So, with help from a surprising source, he sets out to persuade Victoria to become his wife--by any means possible.

Warning, this book includes: A woman who is convinced she doesn't need marriage, a man who is convinced she does, meddling family members, and a seduction that is destined to curl your toes, warm your heart, and leave our heroine with only one choice.

Book Spotlight, Callum

We are over a month away from the release of Callum the first of The Cursed Clan series and I am already wanting to scream with delight. This is the book that finalled in the Romance Junkies Reader contest several years ago, and landed me an agent for a short time. Sadly, NY kept telling me that no one knew how to market it. I still find it absurd that a MARKETING department tells me they don't know how to market my book. Seriously? Anyway, with the self-publishing market opening now, I can do it myself. And, I decided to give you a little preview because it is a bit different from other things I have written.
The Cursed Clan is a five book paranormal series that tells the tale of five cousins, four men and one woman, who are trying to break a curse that is hundreds of years in the making. I will warn you, the beginning of the series starts off lightly on the paranormal side, but it will grow, I promise. Lots of magik and villians, especially from the clan who had the Lennons cursed in the first place.
These books are going to be sexy, yes, but they will not be considered erotic. I know the Harmless series has given me a reputation of writing light to medium BDSM but these, at the moment at least, will not have that. What I am excited about that to me, they are just as sensual, and much longer than my other books. I am aiming for about 80K for these books because there is a lot of story in them. It has a special place in my heart because I started with this idea almost FIVE years ago. Thankfully, now I don't have to wait for a publisher to tell me if it is good enough or not, and seriously, I just HAD to write these books. Poor Phoebe and Callum had been waiting for me to finish their book. I stopped right before their first love scene, lol.
I hope to have an ARC out to reviewers NLT Dec 20th, with a release date of January 17th, or there abouts. Here is a little tidbit and you can see that our heroine and hero are off to a bumpy start during their first meeting.

Unedited Excerpt (c) Melissa Schroeder

Callum Lennon was another story altogether.
Before coming to Scotland, she had researched the Lennon family, especially their leader. It was her way. Any smart woman would do the same before embarking alone on a mysterious trip like this. Other than the fact that he headed up one of the most successful corporations in the UK—if not the whole bloody world—Phoebe found precious little else. No pictures, no personal information. A man with this sort of money usually took pains to be seen out, a beauty on his arm, attending benefits, galas and whatnot. Truthfully, though, she doubted any photo could have lived up to the flesh and blood man standing before her. And what beautiful flesh it was.
From his expression to his dress, black suited him. Ebony hair, peppered with bits of gray, was cut ruthlessly short. Like his office, he was dour, and more than likely, predictable as a schedule. Where his cousins seemed approachable, Callum’s demeanor was a red light.
The only thing appealing about him, other than the fact that he possessed one of the best bodies she’d ever seen, was his eyes. The shape of them would be considered bedroom sleepy, seemingly half-closed. The lazy sensuality was belied by the vigilant alertness she sensed in his study. This man missed nothing, but that wasn’t their most amazing quality.
The color held her almost mesmerized. Blue, a completely boring description, would not do justice to their beauty. They were almost unworldly in the shade of blue, but when light struck them in just the right manner, there was a hint of green. She’d sigh over them, if it wasn’t a completely adolescent thing to do. She’d just have to wait until she was in her room alone. With the lights turned out.
“First, we need to talk contracts.” The burr in his voice had thickened since she’d first heard him speak, making her belly flutter. When his words registered, she sighed in regret. Such a beautiful man, completely out of her league, but she’d hoped they’d work on friendly terms.
“No. First, we need to talk about what you want me to do.”
He didn’t respond for a moment, clearly taken back by the fact someone disagreed so openly with him. There was a flash of irritation and something akin to admiration—which was an odd combination, to be sure—in his gaze.
“There is no discussion of anything until you sign a contract. We, meaning Lennon Enterprises, must protect our name.”
He crossed his arms over his broad chest and gave her what she was sure his most intimidating stare. Silly man, didn’t he know anything about her? She was handling professors who were just as intimidating when she was barely thirteen. And nothing would stand between her and the grant she needed to complete her most important work ever.
“No. As I discussed at length with Angus before I traveled here, I made it very clear that once I arrived I wanted information up front. I will sign a confidentiality agreement, but I will not sign a binding contract. I understand the need for secrecy, but I assure you there is no problem. I have a reputation that far exceeds even your vaulted standing in the business community.” One ebony brow rose in aggravation or respect for her snooping. “All I know is that it’s a serious matter dealing with an artifact you found and need help translating. We will work much better together if I understand what I am dealing with.” She offered him her best business smile, the one she used on interviewers and donors.
“I’ll no’ risk my family name, our honor, to be sold to the highest bidder. The information you could gather would be more valuable on the open market.”
Her temper wasn’t quick to ignite, but was a dangerous thing once it did. And Callum Lennon was perilously close to burning.
She took a deep breath. Then another. “Are you questioning my integrity? That something in your twisted logic thinks I would take what information you give me and sell it, my reputation be damned?”
By the time she finished her voice had risen almost to a shout, but the moment she stopped talking, deadly silence filled the room.
Callum’s eyes flashed and narrowed. “I doona know or care about your reputation. I have a policy for dealing with this situation. I willna have my family used.”
She counted backwards from ten, then did it twice more. Questioning her honor, was he? Granted, she wasn’t being completely honest with him, but she knew if she rolled over on this one, he would either be suspicious of her motives or think he would win every argument.
Phoebe pushed herself to her feet even as she told herself smacking a six and a half foot broody, totally delectable Scotsman wasn’t a good idea.
“Phoebe.” She didn’t even flinch when Angus tried to interrupt. “Dr. Chilton.”
She ignored the worry in the younger cousin’s tone. Locked into stare-down with his cousin, Angus’s voice didn’t completely register. The room, and everything in it faded away, until only she and Callum remained. Fire leapt in his eyes, showing his barely-controlled temper. His rigid stance bespoke his command over his emotions. He probably hadn’t said even a tenth of what he was thinking, and she was already offended.
She was no coward, but she tended to work with people, negotiate. Her parents had taught her from an early age to be diplomatic. So, it was complete surprise that the urge to push him further, question his integrity, and make him slip over the edge of control, almost overwhelmed her.
Before she could stop herself, she stepped closer to the desk. His expression shifted, turning from anger to something that resembled…lust? Her heart tripped over itself, and her nipples tightened against her cotton bra. His nostrils flared. A charge filled the air, drifting over her, heating her. Bloody hell, every drop of moisture in her mouth evaporated.
Something primal that she’d never experienced before leapt in her blood. Her breath tangled in her throat. All she could think of was touching him, moving her hand over his flesh. Bare flesh. Thankfully, before she could embarrass herself, Angus interrupted her thoughts.
Callum.
The rebuke in his cousin’s voice reached the dark leader. He shook his head as if to clear it, and that was enough to bring Phoebe to her senses. She needed to keep her head straight or she would surely give herself away.
Drawing in a deep breath, she dropped back into the chair, her body still humming from the confrontation.

Infatuation, writing, things to come

Chloe Vale, my editor, and I are putting the finishing touches on Infatuation and I wanted to let you know that it will probably be delayed just a few days. The ickiness I had last week put me behind and I am just about caught up.
I also wanted to explain what these books are. Every one of them will be a long novella or short novel, whichever you like to call it. I had planned it this way for a couple of reasons. I was tied to my publisher to begin with and was looking at having to turn books in for consideration a year to eighteen months ahead of time. Since I was allowed to do the spinoff series as per my contract by myself, I thought these would be nice little side trips, not really in Hawaii, but Harmless all the way. Also, it is going to allow me to drop the price a dollar a book for readers.

Now I know that some of you are never going to be satisfied with a shorter book. Sorry about that, but this is the way I have them plotted right now. It also allows me to do a couple of things when they go to print this summer. I can put the first two books together in print OR I can write a free short story that will be included at the end. Still trying to decide what to do there:P But know I am not trying to short change you there. I wanted to do something in the vein of Harmless but not the same. Of course it has that military spin on it, but like the shorts, these are different from the main stories. I can almost promise you that the main Harmless Series will be 60K or above, so they will stay the same. I want readers to know what they are getting and this gives me a chance at playing with some Seals to see if I want to develop a larger military series in the future. Oh, and I give you some Harmless:)

Other things in the makings, A Little Harmless Gift should be out in early December, mainly depending on how long it takes me to get it formatted and I will be offering it up at .99. It is the cheapest I can go.  The coming months are going to be filled with new releases. Callum, the first of books detailing the Lennon Clan will be out in January. After that, I will have Falling in Love Again, a shorty connected to my Once Upon an Accident Series and will feature Victoria, Sebastian and Anna's mother. You get to find out just what was going on with her during The Spy Who Loved Her. Then, you get another Harmless book late in Feb, A Little Harmless Fascination

That's a lot of books in the next few months, so I will be keeping my nose to the grindstone working hard. I have had a few questions and yes, the longer books will be in print. My problem with Harmless is that A Little Harmless Addiction isn't going to be out in print until May, so I have to wait until then. After that, I will start rolling those out a few months after the digital comes out. One thing I will say is that the price will be as low as I can make it to break even and I will be doing it through Create Space on Amazon and putting them in distribution channels.

Oh, and I wanted to give you my pricing scheme for digital books. I don't think I have posted it here, but I thought it would be good. These prices are for single titles and will not include digital bundles I do later:

Under 10K- .99
10-20K -1.99
20-50K-2.99
50-80K-3.99
anything over that will be 4.99

Now this might change depending on what retailers do. They have a habit of changing things without notice. Or, if my overhead costs rise, then I will have to raise the price of my books. Right now though, this works and I think readers are happy with it,  yes?

Now, I have more work to get done so I am off to work.

Stuff, upcoming releases, blah blah

It has been a busy few months for me. For those of you who don't know, we yanked the kids out of school here in Alabama. Just for personal reasons, and partially because of hubby's schedule. He has to teach according to the AF schedule and that is not always kosher with schools. With only two years left before the oldest graduates, we wanted to spend some time traveling together. She also begged us. So, my days are long, very long, with the added teaching and being self published. With Brandy's help, I am starting to get ahead. But, I have had some exciting things happen lately.
I had my first--I believe--pick for a book club. The I Heart Romance group of Houston is going to read A Little Harmless Sex this month. Very exciting. I also have an updated blurb and excerpts along with a lot of buy links for my books. But, I wanted to give you a little idea of things to come. Remember, a lot of this is subject to change.

For a tough as nails Dom hunting a sadistic serial killer is nothing compared to losing his heart.
Rome Carino is hunting a predator. One who likes to hurt submissives and the most popular BDSM club’s patrons are being targeted.  With each fresh kill, he gets more brazen. Rome knows he just needs one little break, but before he can make headway, the FBI shows up. Worse, the uptight, buttoned-down Special Agent Maria Callahan suggests a plan that is dangerous, but worth it because it might just catch the killer. If Rome can keep his mind on the case and off the beautiful FBI agent, he'll be just fine.
Maria is still trying to step out of her legendary father's shadow and knows just how to do it. Luring the killer by posing as Rome's new sub seems like a good idea. That is, until undercover becomes real life and she finds herself tangled up with a man who amazes and scares her at the same time. Her growing attraction to the Honolulu Police Detective is a little too much to handle. Even knowing that, she can't help falling in love with the tough Dom and losing herself in the games they play in the bedroom.
Rome is overwhelmed by his need for Maria. He has never had a sub respond to him the way she does and no matter what he does, he feels himself slipping off that cliff into love. As their relationship starts to unfold, he realizes that he will do anything to win her heart, to convince her to become his sub for a lifetime. But before he can do anything, the killer turns his attention on Rome and the one thing he holds dear: Maria.
WARNING: The following book contains: A Dom who thinks he can do no wrong, a new sub who is about to teach him he can, palm trees, a trip or two to Rough ‘n Ready, a flirty Aussie Dom with questionable motives, old friends, and a new enemy. Yeah, it might be called Harmless, but you Addicts know it’s anything but.

New Lineup and things to come

Lots of things are changing for me at the moment, and I just don't mean the move to Alabama. I want to be able to say I blog regularly. I don't now, but I am going to try to change, I swear.
Anyway, I am looking for authors who would want to be spotlighted on my blog. Every Monday I am going to have a Monday Author Spotlight. Email me if you would like to participate. melissa@melissaschroeder.net please put Monday Author Spotlight in the subject line.

Starting next week, READERS AND AUTHORS, I am going to start my Whatcha Reading Wednesdays. Does not have to be a first read, as I reread a lot, but just a posting of what you are reading. Everyone's name goes in the hat for a 10 dollar GC from Amazon or B and N.

I have a lot of things on my plate right now and the back has been a bitch. Just getting through some days is hard enough, but I am trying to finish up A Little Harmless Submission. As it stands right now, though, here is my line up for the next few months:

I cannot say when things will happen with my Samhain or Siren books. I am turning a lot of things in the next few months, so hopefully I will hear something soon. I am also in talks with WCP about doing some more work with them. I would like to continue on my books after Her Mother's Killer. I will let you know as soon as everything is finalized.

New Covers

Hey, folks. While you are waiting for the contest to resume, I'll share my new covers. And yes, this is Mel is a lucky biatch part 10000000 lol.

I have two new covers to show you. First one is for my September release from Samhain, The Last Detail. It is done by Scott Carpenter once again.

And now, for my October release, Going for Eight. This was part of an anthology at WCP which is no longer in print and is linked to A Calculated Seduction. I will be doubling the book or more and releasing it myself.
Kendra Egert who did the cover for A Little Harmless Surprise. She will be my go to gal for a lot of my self-pubbed books.
