Mel's Lei Day CELEBRATION

May day is called Lei Day in Hawaii. That is King Kamehameha and they do cover him with Leis on Lei day. Well, he does get Lei'd a lot, lol. Many of the statues across Hawaii are covered in them during special celebrations like Lei Day. It is a huge part of a their culture, and there is something about getting a lei in Hawaii.  This year marks the 85th anniversary celebration and because most of the Harmless books have some kind of connection to the islands, I would have a big party here on the blog.

A Little Harmless Addiction is now officially in print and the last of the publisher Harmless books. A Little Harmless Fascination is now in digital and will be in print in the next few weeks along with Infatuation.

So, I am going to have a little contest and you just leave your answer down there in the comments. I will draw the winner THURSDAY at NOON central US Time. And, what do I have for y'all? Well, we have a Hawaiian bag that Brandy and I picked up this year at the Swap Meet, and we can fill it with lots of Hawaiian goodies including a print of A Little Harmless Submission, some Harmless swag, and how about a beach towel since summer is coming up. Oh, and why don't I spread the love and offer  up two runner up swag packs of Harmless fun.

So, what do I want to know? If you had a chance to go to Hawaii this year, what would you like to do? Are you a touristy kind of person who loves to hit all those places you've seen in movies and on TV? Or do you want to hang out on the beach and maybe dabble in some shopping? Or, are you in it for adventure, to do some surfing, parasailing or a little hiking? Let me know, and I will put your name in the pot.

Sunday Ramblings

Good Morning! First things first. SAMHAIN PUBLISHING is having an EARTH DAY sale. Enter code EARTH12 and get 30% off any ebook! Can't beat that, can ya?
I just turned in the rest of A Little Harmless Fascination and I am pretty pleased with it. It isn't quite as suspense filled as some of the others, and it had more romancy parts to it than I expected:) I like that. One thing I have always liked about writing my Harmless books is that there is formula beyond the romance part of it. Okay, so all of them have some super smexy parts. What I mean is that some are BDSM and some have suspense. Some are just erotic romance. After coming up with all the part of the next full Harmless book, A Little Harmless Fantasy, I am not sure there is going to be that much suspense in that one either. I am still working on the details, but I do believe that there is going to be more about our three main protagonists, it is MMF, and how they deal not only with the growing relationship they all share, but how they handle their lives and their relationship when something very horrible happens. But not to worry, suspense lovers. A Little Harmless Ride and A Little Harmless Secret will both have a lot of suspense in them. I am super excited about both, but especially Ride because it goes to the Big Island, my favorite island. I am finishing up my research on the Paniolo, the Hawaiian cowboy.

I am sure some of you might have noticed the widget to the side. I am going to have a salute to Military Romance in May, the week of Memorial Day. Authors participating are Cat Johnson, Kallypso Masters, SE Jakes and Heather Long are joining me to talk about military romance. Each author will give a prize a day away AND there is a huge grand prize. Big winner will have a choice of a KINDLE FIRE or a 200 GC from Amazon or Barnes and Noble (winner's choice).

And if that is not enough...Wax Creative is moving along with my website redesign. I am so excited about it and I feel confident in their abilities. It is really nice to have a designer listen to my thoughts and suggestions and not treat me like I am stupid. It will be fully integrated for my social media and lots of bells and whistles. Soo excited!

I am going to start cleaning out the office today and getting things set to the move to the rental house. The only thing keeping me sane is that I know our next move is after Les is retired from the AF. It is hard to believe that the journey we started together, here in Montgomery because Les went to OTS here, is coming to an end. I am kind of sad because I am military brat at heart, but part of me is excited about the upcoming possibilities.

Off to get started on the packing so I can play with Deke and Samantha today!

Update on Contest

YAY, I am able to get back into blogger! It has been a long few days of me bitching to just about ever poor telephone rep about my internet speed. When you sign up for the fastest but they install the slowest, kind of pisses ya off, you know?
Anyway, here is what is going to happen. This weekend I will post the rest of the contests. We had two days left, so that will work. I am closing down the comments on all the other contests. Still have those five ereaders to give away, and I still have the Hawaiian bag of goodies to give away. The rest of the posts will be on Saturday and Sunday, with the contest closing down on Tuesday at Midnight. Then, Wednesday morning, I will post all the winners.  Doing it this weekend will give me the next few days to put the posts up and have them scheduled which was the plan to begin with but I got behind with books due in and the moving across the country thing. It looks like we will have about one post an hour those last couple of days. So, make sure to check back in and comment and discuss on each one. There are some great authors including Sylvia Day, Beth Williamson, Kris Cook and Sophie Oak and...well this could go on forever! But the list is great and there are a lot of great prizes.

I am so sorry it has taken so long, and big apologies to the authors involved. I could not post on blogger to save my life. I could not even get the danged dashboard to come up the last few days. But apparently, things are working well again.  I can load tweetdeck with no problem and my blogger seems to be working right again. I might not be around much because I am working on getting these posted and another book at the same time. Oh, and I guess unpacking lol. Yeah, I've been pretty bad but I have to get the kids' computer set up.

Thanks again for everyone understanding and look for the contest to start at midnight on Saturday morning!

ATH: MEEEEE

Okay, since it is release day, I am going to be the first one up to bat today! A Little Harmless Addiction is the 5th Harmless Book and featured Kai Aiona, May's brother, and Jocelyn Dupree, Chris' sister. It is not BDSM, mainly because BDSM is not their thing. Rome, for those of your who read Obsession and the follow up short Surprise, will be next and that is DEFINITELY BDSM, lol.
I will list my places on the web:

Samhain

Falling in love might not be the smart thing, but it might be the one thing they both need.

Harmless, Book 5

Jocelyn Dupree has come to Hawaii to heal. After a horrific experience with her last boss, she is on the mend and ready to start again. She is focused on rebuilding her life and her career as a pastry chef. She definitely doesn't need a man in her life, or so she thinks.

Kai Aiona has always been the guy to mend a broken heart. Unfortunately, the last heart that was broken was his. He has sworn off damaged women, but he can't resist Jocelyn's sad eyes, not to mention her determination to succeed.

One little date turns into several and soon, Jocelyn finds herself easily addicted to Kai's sensual nature. Resisting him becomes impossible, but Jocelyn isn't ready to trust completely. When Kai discovers she hasn't been telling him everything, Jocelyn is left with two choices: trust her heart, or let the one man she has ever loved go.

Product Warnings
Scenes from Hawaii,  nosey friends and family, two people who are right for each other but too stupid to realize it, a tattooed and pierced hero, a sassy Southern heroine, one drunken night, and love scenes that will curl your toes, warm your heart and leave you panting for more. Remember, Harmless stories are not for the weak.

He said nothing more, just kept looking at her. She did her best not to fidget but it was hard not to. Even with only a dim streetlight she could see his gaze, the way it followed her lips. The man was going to turn her into a lunatic if he kept looking at her as if he were going to gobble her up.
That thought had heat rolling through her. Her nipples were tight against her lace bra, painfully erect. She shifted her feet and the lace moved against the sensitive flesh. God.
“Well, I guess I should get going.”
“Yeah.”
He placed a hand against the car behind her and leaned in. She didn’t hesitate, didn’t draw back. It was the most natural thing in the world to move into the kiss. Just like the night before, the moment he touched his mouth to hers, she lost every thought. They bled out of her brain and were replaced by the sheer pleasure of having his lips against hers, his tongue slipping into her mouth, and the feel of his body against hers. He slanted his head to deepen the kiss, slipped his arms to her waist and pulled her against him. The heat of him, the feel of his long, hard muscles against her, had her responding. She wanted, wanted him like nothing she had ever wanted before. Her body shimmered with need. She slipped her hands up his arms and over his shoulders, and just like the night fell into the kiss.
He was exotic to the taste, but so normal, so what she needed. She was trying to figure out a way to get him back to her house when a passing car honked their horn.
“Get a room, Kai.”
He pulled back then, gently and with a regretful smile. “I guess we gave the neighbors a show.”
Left unfulfilled again. “Not as good a one if that idiot hadn’t beeped his horn.”

So, what am I giving away??? Two 25 dollar GCs to winner's choice of booksites, amazon, samhain and barnes and noble. Two winners. So, easy peasy and I asked this question before, but, you can answer the same here or come up with something different. Where would you like to see a Harmless story set?

A Little Harmless Addiction

Otherwise known as I am a lucky bitch part 537. Scott loves me, he really loves me. This was a hard cover to do because I have a part Hawaiian hero and a black heroine. It isn't easy to do with two people on the cover.
I wanted to say a little about the book. The last three Harmless books have been BDSM. The characters in Pleasure, Obsession and Lie all had BDSM in the backgrounds. Or, they were missing that from their love life. Jocelyn and Kai are different.
Jocelyn comes from the same background as Chris, being that he is her brother, but she has been through a tough time. BDSM is not part of her love life, or is it for Kai. I could have pushed it, because people assume that this is a BDSM series, but it wouldn't have felt right, to the reader or me.
Not that it isn't erotic. But, I will say, it is more along the lines of A Little Harmless Sex. It is more a HOT HOT erotic contemporary. No suspense, just two people trying to figure out just how to be together.
And, sorry, not sure how much BDSM will be in A Little Harmless Secret, the next one I have planned.  That has suspense in it, but not sure that those two characters will have that need. And I do not, as I mentioned before, believe in making a book BDSM because it might sell more. I tell the story the characters need to tell, and not all personalities are a good fit for BDSM.
That being said, I really like the book. And, I am going to have one BIG ASS CONTEST. I have a ton of authors who are going to be on the week of release for an Addicted to Harmless Blog Party. As many of you know, I am moving the last week of May, so when this comes out, there is a good chance I will still be living out of boxes. Well, let me put it this way. I will be lucky if I am living out of boxes and not still waiting for a house or delivery of household goods. So, I am setting this up ahead of time. Also, I will be making widgets and I would appreciate any and all posting of the widget.
I am so super thrilled about the cover and I hope everyone will like the story!
