To keep her safe, he will not only have to risk his life, but also his heart.

Lady Anna was once considered the catch of the season. Now, three years after she fell for a man who tried to murder her cousin, she eases her guilt with charity work at an orphanage. Until her mother insists she do her duty.
Attending her cousin’s ball is irritating enough. It’s her one dance with Daniel, the unscrupulous Earl of Bridgerton, that rubs her nerves raw. And oddly leaves her senses on the edge of arousal.
The ton sees Daniel as a scoundrel. In truth, like centuries of Bridgertons before him, he leads a vast network of spies, protecting England from her worst enemies. His resolve never to marry means the one woman he’s always wanted—Lady Anna—is off limits. Especially now that his father’s murderer is coming after him as well.
At first, Anna wonders if Daniel was put on this earth just to annoy her. It’s only when she finds him injured that his mask begins to fall away—and so do the barriers between them. But their flaring passion puts her right where Daniel didn’t want her. Next on a killer’s list.

Warning: This book contains spies, musicales, men who think they know everything, women who know they do not, naughty liaisons, matchmaking mamas, and a seduction that will curl your toes.

Lots of things

That was an original title, right? I am seriously behind, working to catch up from the illness and springtime allergies have arrived, HURRAH! not.
First, I want to thank everyone for showing up last week for the release party. I will be doing another one in June with the release of A Little Harmless Addiction, woo hoo!
Secondly, there have been some questions about Sebastian and Anna's mother, Lady Victoria, in The Spy Who Loved Her. Yes, I left you hanging, but I am working on a free story that goes with my historicals. I am going to be putting out several free stories tied to existing books this Christmas as a present for readers. Sorry, it will only be on my site and in PDF, unless something changes between now and then. But, it will wrap up what exactly was going on with their mother, and give you a little update on Jo and the pursuit of her husband's killer.
The last thing is the most important thing. Many of you have already heard about Fatin's terrible loss and that many authors, publishers and romance community friends are gathering together for an online auction. I am giving up a Kindle and a choice of ten books in my backlist. I had thought about also offering for Character name in one of my Harmless books, but I wasn't sure if there would be much interest in that. Thoughts? Anyway, I will post here when the auction goes live!
That's it for now. I have a lot of writing to get done in a short amount of time. I am blowing shit up on a distant planet and our heroine is having a time dealing with two very Alpha males who want her both...as much as she wants both of them. YUMMY.

Early Reviews and stuff

I have been a bad writer. Actually, I have been a good writer, but a bad blogger. I have been super busy trying to get ahead before our move to Alabama later this spring. I know I will never do all I want to do, but I want to at least to attempt to stay on target. We all know that I will be forever behind, lol.

I'm getting some great advanced reviews for my upcoming release of The Spy Who Loved Her. Here are a few snippets:

Oh, whenever I get a book from Melissa Schroeder in my hand, I know I’m in for a wonderful read and this one proves that she’s still an author goddess!!  Val, Love Romances and More

Loved this book. Emily, Sensual Reads

I loved watching Daniel and Anna try to deny their feelings, while at the same time acknowledging the crazy feelings swirling inside.  Lori, Don't Talk, Just Read
Also, through the first week of release, The Spy Who Loved Her is only 3.85 at SAMHAIN. Yes, you read that right! It is normally 5.50 so that is a bargain! And, be sure to check out the updated webpage on my site!

One more thing, please join my Melissa Schroeder FAN PAGE for the big old contest I will be doing next week when The Spy Who Loved Her releases. I will have guest authors who will be giving away a lot of things and I will be giving a 100 dollar GC on top of it all!

Six Sentence Sunday: Sneaky look at The Spy Who Loved Her

I've decided to jump in the Six Sentence Sunday! Authors (pubbed or unpubbed) post six sentences from works in progress, contracted work, or published work. This is from my upcoming March release, The Spy Who Loved Her. It is after a first kiss gets a little out of hand.

The Spy Who Loved Her
Samhain Publishing 2011

“Anna, you didn’t hurt me.” He took her face in his hands and drew her near. The molten gold in his eyes shined with admiration and honesty. “You destroyed me.”

The utter surrender in his voice made her heart turn over. “Danny.”

The Spy Who Loved Her or Scott Carpenter is a GOD

This could also be entitled Melissa is a LUCKY BITCH. I mean, look at that!!! Scott has done more covers for me than any other artist and he never fails to make me happy. But, this one took my breath away. I mean, HOLY MOLEY! I cannot wait to have paper promo made up for it:) I am so psyched. It doesn't come out until March 2011 in digital, but now I can barely wait!
