Sexy Saturday: Soundtrack for ALH Fantasy

Yes, I am working on getting Desire by Blood done, but I am getting ready for Fantasy next. All three of the characters came awake for me this week and they won't shut the hell up while I work. I predict when I sit down to finish off that book, they will be silent, bastards.
But, I have already found the love song for all three of them. There will probably be others that will represent the couplings. But this one...it pretty much sums up the relationship for the three of them. And, it was filmed in Miami of all places--where the three of them live. A huge chunk of the book will be the week they spend in Hawaii together, but they do call Miami home.
Kenny Chesney is always in the running for singing songs on my writing soundtracks, especially that last few years. It is rather interesting that in this story, Maura has dyed her hair blonde, but she is originally a brunette, and looks a little like the woman in the video.

Possession Music

If you follow the blog, or my crazy ramblings, you know that music is a huge part of my writing. I have a soundtrack for every book I write. Possession is of course no different. There are a always a few songs on every soundtrack the same. But there are usually one or two that speak to me about a book. For Possession, it is this song. Deke and Samantha have had a bumpy road. Divorce didn't dampen their need or their love. There is a reason neither of them seem to be able to move on.
Now, they are in a different place. Things have changed and have thrown them together permanently and our hero Deke doesn't want to give her up. He gave up being on an active Seal Team to work at a planning job in Hawaii because she's there. This time, he isn't giving up and the second I heard this song, I knew it was his. Jason  Mraz is a special favorite of mine.  I also love the progression of his talent. The new album is fantastic and a lot of the songs are on my soundtrack and I know that this one in particular will be in soundtracks for years to come. But I Won't Give Up is Deke down to his dog tags. He has decided this time he will not give up. This time, Samantha and he are staying together.
Is there any sexier than a military man on a mission to win a woman's heart? I hope you enjoy;)

Hawaiian Music-Jake Shimabukuro

I write to a lot of different music, but when I am doing a Harmless book, I tend to have a few more songs from the Hawaiian Islands. When I say that, everyone mentions Brother Iz, who is a favorite, but I also like Jake Shimabukuro. I never thought I would be one for ukele music until we moved there and Jake, well, he is amazing. I mean, he plays The Bohemian Rhapsody on it. Here are a few of my favs, including one he filmed in Hawaii Kai which is one of my favorite places on the island. I loved going there to watch the windsurfers at sunset there.

A Music Break

You all know how musical I am. I have to have some song for a book or I am lost. I have a future Harmless brewing, not contracted, but the title I have in my head is A Little Harmless Secret. The two characters have a passionate affair four years before the book starts and accidently run into each other at the start of the book. There are a lot of songs speaking to me including Colbie Caillat's I Never Told You, the hero's song, and two of my new favs: Sara Evans Little Bit Stronger, our heroine's song, and what is their song at the beginning of the book, Kenny Chesney's Somewhere With You. I say at the beginning because they are in a mess and we want our hero and heroine to be happy at the end, yes? So I am sure something will come to me when I start working on it later this winter.

I am absolutely in love with Chesney's song. I can't get enough of it. They are both a little desperate for love in this book, a need that will override all their common sense. But, with this hero and heroine's background, neither of them trust very easily. I already know writing this book is going to be hard on me.

I am off to finish my self edits for The Spy Who Loved Her to turn in today  so enjoy the music break.
