Guest Post & Giveaway: Stephanie Haefner

Snuggle up and keep warm!

Winter in Western NY is the time of year I crave my electric blanket, a mug of something warm, and a great book. Well, I crave great books all year, but winter is the best time to just snuggle up and read...all day. No one wants to go outside and battle the wind and snow and craziness! I love when a book sucks me in so deeply that I don't want to stop reading. That is a great winter day for me!

And yes, a great romance helps keep me warm too! I read a bunch of different genres, but no matter what it is- futuristic dystopian or sci fi, I have to have some kind of love story. I recently watched a great movie. The story was really fantastic. But it was missing something....a romance.

What is it about romance that sucks me in and keeps me intrigued? I guess I am a romantic at heart. I believe in soulmates and happily ever after. True love so powerful it can defy everything life throws at us.

When I was a teen, I wasn't a big partier, going out and doing the mischievous things my peers were doing. I wanted to find a high school sweetheart and date him all through high school and then go away to college together, get married and live happily ever after. Didn't exactly happen. One guy came close my senior year, but he one day decided he didn't want a serious girlfriend. And when I did meet my future husband, it didn't take long to know we'd be together forever. (It's been 16 years and we've been married for 13!)

When I read a great romance, my heart flutters along with the characters'.
The anticipation of seeing him or her, waiting and yearning for each other...I get antsy right along with them. I feel their first kiss and remember what it was like for me. I'll be honest, it's been over sixteen years since I've had a first kiss and it's something I will never ever have again. Sometimes I do miss that feeling and sometimes it's hard to really remember. But then I read a great romantic story and it pulls me back. I remember. I can feel it!

And no conversation about romance and warmth would be complete without those steamy sex scenes! I read a range of romance, from sweet to sizzling, and no matter the heat level, the scenes always seem to warm me up. No need for my electric blanket!

So, how do you keep warm all winter long???

If you are like me and like to read a great romance, comment below for a chance to win a digital copy of my newest release, Karma Kameleon! Contest is open internationally. But I do need a valid email address! Please post it along with your comment!

Since it is going to be in the 50s here in Florida this weekend, I plan to hunker down with a warm drink, a blanket and my Kindle filled with good books.

I love to cozy up on our couch with a thick fleece blanket, a cup of tea and my ereader. The other critical ingredient is a quiet house - which means this usually only happens late at night, after everyone is asleep.

My husband is a big time cuddled. He loves to spoon. He's my heater.

Definitely my "luxury" snuggie and a very hot cup of green tea. Also, my dog if I'm at home.

Thanks for stopping by!!! And such a great day for this to post. Our winter here has been quite warm..and living in snow country USA (aka Buffalo, NY) it has just been plain weird. But not today...our 50 degree January days have turned into a full out snow-a-thon.

I love to read and to snuggle under the covers and read works well. Hot Cocoa helps too! Or cocoa and schnapps if I'm really feeling cold! Sounds like a great book.

I am so like you it is not even funny...*S*
It's a long cold winter here...6 months long that is. Months of darkness that can really be hard on your mental and emotional state if you let it. But I love to read, and snuggling on my couch with a fleece blanket, and at least a couple of my fur babies with my Kindle and I am a happy camper. I love the romance, and hot scenes and the emotional connection I can get with the characters. I laugh, cry and get so immersed in the stories that I always hate for them to end...*S*
Thank you for the giveaway, and wishing you a warm and fulfilling season..*S*

I live in WNY too. Just north of Buffalo. Boy did we get nailed with wind and snow this morning. I like to cuddle up with my snuggie, my kids bought it for me, and read a steamy romance. I also love a XL cup of Timmy Ho's coffee. If I could have an IV drip with that stuff in it, I so would.

Thanks for the great post. Nice to read about a fellow WNYer. We can commiserate about the weather together.

I love snuggling on the couch under a warm blanket with my kindle filled with romance, preferably while looking out at the snow falling, but unfortionately I'll have to settle with rain, because there is no snow in Germany this year. But as long as I have my kindle with romance...

I cuddle up with my Kindle under a cozy blanket and pretend I don't hear my kids. :) Currently reading Warrior by Archer and Mind, Body, and Spirit by Donja. They're pretty toasty reads.
Looking forward to Karma Kameleon. I loved Bitch Named Karma.
