While Mel's on Hellcation.... I mean in Disney

I'm going to do a giveaway. This is a late Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving Giveaway. Seems November is the month of Thankfulness. You want to know what I'm giving away? Well you'll have to wait until after my rambling is done.

As you know we just had Veteran's Day not too long ago. For Mel and for me its a special day. We're military brats and military spouses. We understand the dedication and non-stop workloads. The never ending tasks of the job, the picking up of slack from others. The small things that go on everyday that make the big military machine run as smoothly as possible. Every day we appreciate what goes on in military life.

Veteran's Day is a day the rest of the Nation remembers the military past and present. The day when everyone else thanks them for their service.

This past Veteran's Day a very special book came out celebrating Navy Seals and all their greatness: SEAL OF MY DREAMS. I believe the project stemmed from SEAL Team 6 taking down their target, Osama Bin Laden. A picture of a SEAL team member floated around the web. Authors who love a good hot body muse got together and decided to write a book and give to research.

The money from this project is going to Veteran's Research Corporation. Veteran's Research Corporation sponsors medical research that improves the lives of military veterans, their families and society at large; and fosters a new generation of researchers to address tomorrow's medical and health care challenges.

The following Monday Melissa's first military romance came out: INFATUATION: A Little Harmless Military Romance.

Melissa introduces us to her first Navy Seal Francis McKade, aka Kade, and Shannon Dupree. Kade has lusted after Shannon but keeps a hands-off policy since she is his best friend's sister. Shannon is ready to get the man she wants.

To quote Shell Bryce, Infatuation is "piece of sinful erotic deliciousness". Now you can't pass up something described like that can you?

In honor of both of these military themed books I'm going to giveaway is a print copy of SEAL OF MY DREAMS and eBook copy of INFATUATION.

What do you need to do to win all of this hard-bodied reading material? Answer one of two questions.

Do you have a military member you're thankful for and why?  OR
With Thanksgiving this week what have you found you are thankful for?

You must answer one of the questions. Feel free to answer both if you wish. I'll leave this open through Friday, November 25th. I will close down the comments Saturday. I'll pick one (1) winner for both books via Random.org. You'll have 72 hours to contact me at contact@melissaschroeder.net with your email AND mailing address.

Now go forth and answer. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Do you have a military member you're thankful for and why? I have a nephew and a cousin in the military. I am very thankful for the sacrifice they (and their families) make daily in order for the rest of us to have the freedoms that we do.

With Thanksgiving this week what have you found you are thankful for? I am thankful to live in a free country. We may have our problems but there is no place I would rather live. I am also very thankful for my family and 5 grown children and my grandchildren who are a blessing and a constant joy to me every day.

I'm thankful that my cousin is now home safe, after serving 2 missions in Afghanistan. His wife and 4 kids are grateful too.

@marybelle I loved being stationed in England. Still so much we didn't get to see and do.

@PhyllisC I'm with you. I would hate to imagine our Country without the freedoms we've come by.

@kog That's wonderful he's home. Mine hubby said he wouldn't mind getting another deployment in. While it scares me to death I can understand why and I'll support him to matter what.

I am very thankful for all the men and women who have put so much on the line for our country. I know there are still many who want to be home with their family and friends and are still fighting for our country.

I have a Uncle that was in the military and a cousin that is now in the military. I'm thankful for my family, friends, books, and I'm thankful my last scan showed no change and that I might get a break from chemo for 2 months if the scan stays the same this time. That would be wonderful.

I loved "Infatuation"! I am so glad I read it, and it's hard to wait for the next one I tell ya...lol
I have no family in the military. But I live in a military community that I love and appreciate more than you can know.
In my heart and soul I have always believed that these wonderful soldiers..every single one of them still belong to all of us. Why?
Because they have sacrificed so much, and given so much for ALL of us, and have become part of my family. They belong to me as if they were my very own. How can they not? For every soldier fights for all of us, and I want them to know that they are a part of my family as well. I am proud to call them my own family. I always want the soldiers to know that my heart and home will always be open to them and their families. It is part of my Native American heart & soul. I have always embrace this in my life:
Mitakyasi, a word from the Lakota language that literally means all my relations.
Mitakuye Oyasin - A Lakota Indian Prayer
These two words mean All My Relations or We are All Related.
AND:
"How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!
~Maya Angelou "

@TinaMarie Having family ready to step up the the plate is a wonderful thing. Now giving up control.... totally different.

@Tammy One thing about the military, regardless of branch, is that during the holidays they try to make those who can't be at home feel at home. Big meals and those holiday videos. Always helps.

@Amy S I hope your scan stay the same and you get that break. I have family members who have just started chemo and 1 is having surgery today to remove part of his colon.

@Colleen I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

@Pomma Why did you have to go and make me all teary eyed? See... they won't stop and the page is blurry now.

I don't know anyone in the military, but I am thankful to all the men/women who sacrifice & fight for our freedom.

Even though thanksgiving isn't that big here in Aus, I am most thankful for my loving family, a roof over my head, food in my belly & good health.

Happy thanksgiving ALL & to anyone who has family/friends in the military I wish them a safe return. :)

I do not have a family member in the military but a good friend's brother is currently serving in Afghanistan. Which leads me to what I'm thankful for- boy oh boy is he good to look at (wink, wink)! But in all seriousness, I do think about him and his daily sacrifice for our country.

I come from a long line of Military Hero's. Every man in my family has served in the service.I have traced my family back to the Revolutionary war and all of the men served in the Army. In the Civil War I had a family member who was a Doctor in the War but when he returned home he never practiced medicine again and returned to farming. My Grandfather was not allowed to serve in WWII because he was a farmer so he immediately joined the draft board. My father and all my uncles served in the Navy and Army. Several of my brothers and cousins have all served as well.
As for what I am Thankful for I would say my crazy ass family and all the wonderful friends I have made online. Who knew that you could bond over the love of reading. I have met people that I consider my best friends in Our little band of Perverts. I hope to see several of them in the New Year and hope to torture them for years to come.

Poor Mel. I thought it was supposed to be the happiest place on earth. lol.

I am thankful for my husband's cousin who is a USMC. He's currently overseas and we haven't seen him since last Thanksgiving.

I am also thankful for family, friends and Starbucks serving peppermint mochas. Tis the season! :) And for men and women like my husband's cousin keeping us safe.

That photo on the book cover has such an interesting story behind it.

I have no family serving at this time, but I'm proud that my dad served in WWII. I wish I could ask him questions now about stuff I learned in High school. I lost him to a blood clot in 1977.
I am thankful that I didn't loose my husband to the heart attack that hit him in Sept. He has stents now, and meds, but that is workable. Not having him would have been hard. Thanks for the contest and a Blessed Thanksgiving to you.

With Thanksgiving this week what have you found you are thankful for?

Lets see now. I do not have anyone in my family or close friends who are active at this time. But, I have many uncles who have served, as well as my own father. 3 uncles served in WWII, my father was in Korea, 3 uncles were in/during Viet Nam. One close friend served during the first Gulf War. Another served during the second, and actually helped pull down Saddam's statue. I am thankful for each and every one of those men who served and fought for us and fought for others who couldn't. More than they can ever know.

As for what I am thankful for...first and fore most, my husband. He has stood with me thru thick and thin without complaining. I am also very thankful for my girls. They (all 4) are the lights of my life. One even more so, now. She is expecting my first grand baby come February.

Most of all, I am just so darn thankful for being able to get up in the morning, see the sights and hear the sounds.

What have I found this week that I'm thankful for?
My daughter, Maggie! She is becoming such a special person, I'm lucky to be her mom.

I am thankful for the love and support of my family and friends during this very difficult time in my life. My Mom passed away from cancer 1 week ago, and knowing she made such an incredible impact in so many peoples lives and so many people loved her, makes me realize how truely blessed I am that she was MY Mom and my childrens 2nd Mom and that we were all so incredibly close to her. I am thankful she is no longer suffering and has once again been reunited with my little brother and Grandma.
I have a very close cousin in the military, serving in Afganistan right now. He was completely tore up that he couldn't be here for my Moms funeral, because she was like a mother to him also. The sacrifices that all the men and women in the military make, is utterly astounding to me.

My great grandfather who was with Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders in Cuba to my own da and my husband. Who will be retiring after 24 years in the Navy in 62 days. There are also some special men I can never thank but they are always in my heart. These are the men who resuced my husband's cousin Jessica Lynch in Bagdad when she was MIA.
